While highlighting the environmental and economic aspects of the SDGs, he stressed on the principle of common but differentiated responsibilities that aims to ensure environmental accountability particularly by developed countries. The influence of global politics plays significant role that cannot be avoided wholly while demarcating state obligations in ensuring environmental protection and sustainable development, , he added.
Dr. Kamal Hossain emphasised on the role of good governance in ensuring the achievement of SDGs by highlighting the notions of bad governance. “We do know what bad governance is and staying away from all of those activities is called ‘good governance’”, he remarked.
