The Premier University of Bangladesh has become the champions of the first National Legal Debate Championship 2017, organized by the Bangladesh chapter of Network For International Law Students (NILS Bangladesh). The competition was held on 6-7 October at University of Chittagong, Bangladesh.
With a view to creating rational youths for the nation to uphold law & justice in society by developing their argumentative skill, sophisticated knowledge and leadership ability, the competition hosted around 20 law schools from different pars of Bangladesh.
In the finals, the Premier University team defeated the team of State University of Bangladesh to reign supreme.
The prize giving ceremony was graced with the presence of Prof. Dr. Iftekhar Uddin Chowdhury, the honorable Vice Chancellor of University of Chittagong as the chief guest. Besides, Mr. Moshiur Rahman, Chief Judicial Magistrate of Chittagong and Mr. Sayeed Ahsan Khalid, Asst, Professor, Department of Law, University of Chittagong were present as the special guests. The ceremony was presided over by Prof. ABM Abu Noman, honorable Dean of the Law Faculty, University of Chittagong. Nasrin Sultana, President of NILS Bangladesh provided the inaugural speech to the distinguished guests and participants.
