The moot court team of the Law Department of University of Dhaka has been awarded with the Best Memorial (First Honorable Submission) Award in the 14th Red Cross International Humanitarian Law (IHL) Moot Court Competition, held from 9-12 March, 2016 in
Hong Kong. This is the first time that any university from Bangladesh received this prestigious award.

Hongkong

This competition was held in collaboration with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and Hong Kong Red Cross (HKRC) where 24 teams from 22 Asia-Pacific countries including Australia and New Zealand have participated in. The DU team consisted of Muhammad Omar Faruque, Nadia Rahaman and Masrur Bin Ansari while professor of law department Dr. Nakib Muhammad Nasrullah led them as coach. The team previously became the national champion in Bangladesh and one of the semi-finalists team in the Regional Round. In Regional Round also, the team has been glorified with the Best Memorial Award.

This achievement will certainly bring a new hope for the law student in our country to strive for academic excellence in international arena and be shining example of hard work and relentless efforts.
