The FutureLaw Initiative, in association with Bangladesh Law Students’ Association (BDLSA) had organized the very first National Legal Essay Competition in 2013. As a part of the continuous striving for the betterment and dynamism of the Legal education system of Bangladesh, this Essay Competition is just the footstep in the pathway of our journey.
Law Students from a number of Law schools around Bangladesh participated in this Competition to prove their excellence and scholarship on contemporary Legal issues. The theme of the competition was – “The Development of Judicial Activism in Bangladesh ~ Impact of the Public Interest Litigations in post 2000 era.”
After careful peer-review and thorough assessment, Mohammad Omar Faruque, a law student from University of Dhaka, Bangladesh won the championship. Raunak Jahan Somprity and Mahbub Khan from Islami University Kushtia were awarded the 1st and 2nd Runner-up prizes, respectively.
Besides, Farhana Ruhi (IIUC, Chittagong), Sharmin Nahar (Islamic University, Kushtia) and Sohrab Hossain (University of Dhaka) was awarded with the Special prize for their excellent submission.
This prize giving ceremony was jointly held with the National Law Students Conference.
