A workshop on ‘Career in Law’, jointly organized by the Department of Law, BGC Trust University Bangladesh (BGCTUB) and NILS Bangladesh was held yesterday at Zilla Shilpokola Academy, Chattogram. Around 230 law students participated in the workshop.
The Chairman of the Department of Law, BGCTUB, Nazneen Akter, inaugurated the ceremony with her welcoming speech. After that, four resource persons covered different areas of career opportunities available for law students. Among them, Masoma Zaman, Senior Assistant Secretary, Legislative & Parliamentary Affairs Division, Ministry of Law, Justice & Parliamentary Affairs, Bangladesh Secretariat delivered her speech as the first speaker of the workshop. She has explained the way how a student can apply for the post at the Ministry of Law and what matters are relevant to be carefully noted to grab this wonderful opportunity at the Ministry.
Then Professor ABM Abu Noman, Honorable Dean, Faculty of Law, University of Chittagong delivered his speech as the Second speaker of the Workshop. He addressed the unknown factor of ignorance about the actual scenario of opportunities for a law student, and shared the experiences with the crowd and suggested the suitable framework to achieve a better career. After that, Mr. A. N. M. Morshed Khan, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Rangamati, Chattogram, took the floor and addressed to one of the most prestigious career opportunity for a law student at the Judicial Service Commission. Finally, Advocate Sheikh Iftekhar Saimul Chowdhury, President, Chittagong District Lawyers Association, came to the floor and charmingly addressed to the professional practice opportunity for every law students.
After the completion of the ‘Speeches of Resource Persons’ of the workshop, a grand closing ceremony has been held. Prof. Dr. Saroj Kanti Singh Hazari, Vice Chancellor, BGC Trust University Bangladesh graced the closing ceremony as the Chief guest while AFM Aktaruzzaman Kaiser, Registrar, BGC Trust University Bangladesh were present as the Special guest of the ceremony. Furthermore, the President of NILS Bangladesh Ms. Nasrin Sultana, facilitated the ceremony as the Special Guest of the Closing Ceremony. The whole ceremony was chaired by Nazneen Akter, Chairman, Department of Law, BGC Trust University Bangladesh.
At the closing ceremony, Crests have been handed over to guest and resource person of the workshop and certificates have been handed over to the participants of the workshop.
The whole program was successfully managed and coordinated by Muhommod Mamun, Convenor of the workshop on behalf of NILS Bangladesh & Vice President (Events) of NILS Bangladesh together with the help of Co-Convenor, Mohammed Sajjad and 25 other organizing members of NILS Bangladesh.
