Faculty of Law, University of Dhaka will host the 2nd edition of the much anticipated আইন অনুষদ মুক্ত আলোচনা – Law Faculty Open Discussion titled রবীন্দ্রনাথের কৃষি ভাবনা on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at 2:30 PM at the Kazi Motahar Hossain Building, University of Dhaka. Dr. Atiur Rahman, Professor, Department of Development Studies, University of Dhaka and the former Governor, Bangladesh Bank (the central bank of Bangladesh) will grace the event as the Keynote Speaker.

Dr. Rahman, popularly known as the “Poor People’s Economist” and a Green Governor is presently devoting his time in inspiring his students at the University of Dhaka to overcome the multifaceted challenges in the development sector. Furthermore, he is traveling across the globe and advocating for inclusive sustainable development, green finance movement and peace building via participatory development.

Law Faculty Open Discussion was initiated earlier in 2017 with a view to widening the horizon of knowledge of the university-going students. The first event took place in May, 2017 where Professor Dr. Salimullah Khan presented on ‘Machiavelli on State and Society’. The discussion series aims to impart knowledge on various interdisciplinary issues and unconventional topics that are not usually covered in classroom lectures.

The attendees will gain significant knowledge regarding poet Rabindranath Tagore and his views on agriculture from the enthralling presentation of Dr. Atiur Rahman. This event is open to undergraduate level students currently studying in 4th year, master’s level students and young professionals only.
