The Law Clinic is an important part of the clinical legal education program in the Department of Law, University of Dhaka. The Clinic will help the students to develop key skills which lawyers have to possess. This includes client interviewing skills, management of a law firm, marshalling of facts, arts of examination and cross-examination, civil and criminal procedure in practice, and different laws in action. Students here are trained by mock trial in a room with real court-room- look. Moreover, experience gained from work in real life situations motivate students and invigorate their appetite for legal practice.

Inauguration of the Clinical Legal Education Program run by the Law Clinic at the Department of Law, University of Dhaka has been held on 10 May, 2016, at the Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Building at the University of Dhaka. Honorable Speaker of the Bangladesh Parliament, Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury MP inaugurated the program as Chief Guest, and Professor Dr. A A M S Arefin Siddique, Honourable Vice Chancellor of the University of Dhaka was also present as Special Guest. Among others, Ms. Sara Hossain Barrister at Law, Honorary Executive Director of the BLAST, Mr. K M Abdul Mannan, IGR and the President of the Bangladesh Ain Samity were also present. The Program was presided over by Professor Dr. Borhan Uddin Khan, Chairman, Department of Law.

The Law Clinic is being implemented by the Bangladesh Legal Aid Services Trust (BLAST) with the support of Maxwell Stamp (PLC) and DFID. Under a board of advisors consisting of Professor Dr. Taslima Monsoor – Dean, Faculty of Law, Professor Dr. Borhan Uddin Khan – Chairman, Department of Law and Professor Dr. Md. Rahmat Ullah of the Department, the Clinical Legal Education Program is coordinated by Professor Dr. Muhammad Ekramul Haque and Professor Dr. Md. Towhidul Islam.
